Hurray for NAFTA!

Sometimes the most compelling evidence for something that works is something as simple as a map like the one below, showing various average incomes for the different states in Mexico.

Note the northern provinces are significantly better off than the southern provinces.

If only there was some kind of "trade agreement" that would be to Mexico's south that would help bring about the same benefits. You know, like closer to Central America.

You’re a little confused in thinking we still have capitalism, it died out in the 18 century.
The Mexican economy is controlled by three families, they own everything. “Mexico is not a poor country”it never was”, keep in mind they have more natural resources than the United States.” You can’t even say it's different in the US or Canada. We are also are controlled by monopolies that put our politicians in power through donations and future job promises (Government and monopolies work hand in hand, one cannot exist without the other) this is why NAFTA is a failure. I worked for a company that was shutting down factories in the US and Canada and sending them to low wage locations (some of them are on your chart) 6 factories this year alone, each factory represented about 500-700 jobs. I was told in a high level meeting that we can’t even buy the steel, for what China makes finished products for; how do you compete with that?. It gets even better, the educated people the innovators of the company were first to go, you cant design something 5000 miles away.
By the way I’m out of work now and have enrolled in a truck driving course, someone’s got to move all those Chinese goods around.
Yours truly,
Peter
