Let it be known that today, April 20th, 2007, I saw my first issue of The Economist at the check out line at the grocery store.
There is hope that all is not lost.

I've seen it over here before - but only when there's a lot of magazines there... If there's only a few - then it's all Gossip. It does exist in *some* supermarkets though.
I'm not surprised. You seem a bit cynical about modern society cap'n, the truth is the worlds smarter than you give it credit. The economist happens to be a very successful magazine, lots of people buy it cause it is very well made and intelligent. Simple economics.
